The Bonner House for Campus-Wide Community Service at Concord University

The Bonner House for Campus-Wide Community Service
was created to both enhance current service-learning, community service, and civic engagement of Concord University's current outreach as well as to expand that outreach throughout the campus.

Services and Initiatives

Open to all Concord University students, this program awards students with a financial educational award upon completion of a certain number of service hours within a 2 year period.

The Bonner Scholars Program

Service-Learning Resource Center
Offers access to information and tools as well as financial and hands-on support to faculty in including and implementing service-learning in any Concord University course. This includes the Faculty/Staff Service-Learning Stipends, IMPACT Faculty Newsletter, Resources website, and hands-on assistance with faculty in implementing service-learning experiences.

University 100 Service and Teambuilding
University 100 is an introductory course required of all new Concord University students. A major part of that course is a service-learning project that all the students participate in together to introduce them to the campus' culture of service and to build teamwork and camaraderie among the new students. The Bonner House organizes and facilities these opportunities.

The VISTA Program
Concord University offers two positions through the AmeriCorps Volunteers in Service to America Program to assist in building capacity for The Bonner House for Campus-Wide Community Service.

volunteer.concord.edu

The website provides listings of area service projects seeking support, and the Center provides over-the-phone or in-person assistance in finding service opportunities individually or as part of your group, class, or organization.
